Rates for 2023:

  • Single Member: R 329.00
  • Member + 1: R 399.00
  • Member + 2 or more: R 465.00

Important to note: Only the flight benefit is linked to your Vitality status, and no other benefit is influenced by your status.

Frequent Benefits:

  • 75% discount on gym memberships at Virgin Active or Planet Fitness when you visit 36 days in a rolling 12-month period (a savings of around R 750.00 per month).
  • Up to 25% back on healthy food purchases at Woolworths or PnP, with a monthly spend cap of R 2000 (single member) or R 4000.00 (family).
  • 25% discount on a range of healthy care products at Clicks or Dischem, with the same monthly cap as the healthy food benefit.
  • 25% discount on sports gear at Sportsmans Warehouse or Total Sports, with a monthly cap of R 2000.00 per member.
  • On average, R 17.50 in Discovery Miles every week if you reach your weekly goal.

Infrequent Benefits:

  • Flight discounts based on your Vitality status (maximum discount 35%) available through a Discovery Bank account (free to open).
  • Up to 50% discount on Nike Performance gear and apparel (25% discount plus additional 5% for every 5 goals reached).
  • Free movies for children under 18 and half price for adults at Ster Kinekor.
  • To activate these benefits, you can use the Vitality app. The weekly goals and Nike Performance benefits require you to log into the app once a week and navigate to the Vitality game board. The weekly wins video and Nike gear video can show you how to use these benefits via the app.

Status and points

This is only required if you are going to use the flight benefit or have a Discovery Life policy.

  • Log into your profile and navigate to Vitality points tracker. If you click on ‘how you can earn more points’ you will receive your complete, personalised list.
  • The basis of the points is to have a device that record your heart rate and can link to Strava. Discovery will give you up to 30 000 points a year for this. Each exercise will give different points depending on the duration and you heart rate.
  • The second and often only other activity required, is the yearly vitality check. You will receive 25 000 points if you are the picture of Discovery’s idea a perfect health. Every box that you miss will lose you some points. If you are in danger territory Discovery will deduct points. You can book this test at any Dischem or Clicks and the fee will be covered by Discovery Health.
